Sen. Perdue: "There are no innocent parties when it comes to this debt crisis"
October 4, 2016
Senator David Perdue recently lead a colloquy addressing Washington's broken budget process with the support of other Republican Senators.
In his closing statement Sen. Perdue expressed his frustration with the needless 'drama' that impedes the budget and appropriation processes for federal funding. He argued that until this issue was resolved it would be impossible to address the debt crisis.
Perdue outlines his three guiding principles to reform the process:
1. "The budget needs to be a law"
2. "Everything we spend, all four-trillion dollars of it, needs to be covered in the budget"
3. "If we don't fund the government by the end of the fiscal year there have to be serious consequences."
